- BT are one of our major clients who we have been working with for over a decade.
- On this project we undertook works to create a new directors office on the third floor of the BT Centre building in central London
- This involved the remodelling of the space as it had previously existed as an entirely open plan office
- We installed new stud and glazed partitioning in order to create the desired layout while retaining the open feel of the office
- We undertook all required M&E works including lighting and power
- A crucial element of this project was managing the new sound insulation with the adjustments to the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning system
- Fire detection and prevention systems were also installed
- Once the main elements of works were complete we installed new carpeting and carried out decoration works to achieve the desired finish
Challenges and Solutions
- The building remained fully occupied throughout the works as did the office areas in which we were working
- The works were carried out to strict three week programme to allow handover and full use of the office at the earliest possible time
- This required close sequencing of trades along with a rigorous inspection regime to minimise snags and defects
- This meant that we were able to achieve our programme, eliminate the need for call backs to remedy defects, and maintained a good relationship with the client and all building users
