Key Features
- In early 2019 Etec were appointed to the City of London Corporation's contractors framework
- This is a four year framework for a multi-million pound programme of works to residential, commercial, educational, emergency services, and cultural sites including occupied and listed buildings
- Works primarily cover M&E installations and building fabric repairs. This includes BMS and HVAC systems, lighting, access control, fire and smoke detection along with associated building works and repairs
- As part of the framework we work with CoL to deliver Social Value initiatives including work experience schemes and the use of local labour and suppliers
- This has been bolstered by meeting with local organisations including trusts, charities, and training providers in order to identify which groups we can best assist
Challenges and Solutions
- The majority of CoL sites are in built up and congested areas making planning the logistics of a project a high priority
- This involves managing deliveries to avoid peak times, limiting the extent of our site set ups, and using public transport wherever possible
- To increase value for money we have agreed to take part in the City Accelerate payment scheme whereby we provide CoL with a rebate on invoices paid between 10 and 30 days. This not only provides a saving for CoL but also ensures prompt payment and cashflow on each project
