GP Surgeries

Key Features

Etec were contracted to undertake internal refurbishments to several surgeries in East London.

This included a full strip out including electrics and data supplies along with removing partition walls to create the new layout as required.

Following remodelling we carried out a full fit out including power and data to the new reception counters and consultancy rooms.

The consultancy and reception areas were redesigned with the users in mind including medical equipment, storage, and filing areas.

The surgeries were situated in busy residential and high street areas.

This meant that traffic management was important to minimise disruption and prevent delays to the programme.

Where possible we used the on site parking for storage making the most of 'just in time' delivery methods to minimise storage requirements.

Challenges and Solutions

The project was challenging with the surgeries remaining open during the project.

To manage the works in the occupied building careful phasing was required.

Demolition was carried out on weekends, other tasks were carried out early in the morning before the surgery opened and full segregation was in place to protect the public from the works.

Where required we also created alternate access arrangements.
