Weston-Super-Mare Town Hall

Weston Super Mare Town Hall

Key Features

We are currently undertaking extensive refurbishment works to the Weston-Super-Mare Town Hall, in an effort to convert the building into a North Somerset Council primary office space. This decision was made as a result of Covid-19 bringing a New Ways of Working Strategy.

To review the design and specification supplied by the Council’s consultant One Creative detailing the required new layout and arrangement of the Council’s office accommodation.

Complete the full refurbishment to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors to the building, performing strip out and M&E upgrades.

Install new partitions and carpet flooring/finishes to all areas.

Fit out the newly renovated space using new and reusable furniture from the previously used office spaces for cost savings.

Challenges and Solutions

We have successfully been able to deliver the works within the occupied premises, ensuring minimal disruption to the occupants’ working days. Our relocation of cumbersome furniture has been carried out during out of hours periods and pre-arranged times of day when the office spaces are agreed to be unoccupied.

Close communication with North Somerset Council has been maintained and used effectively to compose an unintrusive logistics plan for the project duration. As a result, our traffic movements and site movements have been carried out with minimal disruptions.

All furniture to be relocated has been/will be boxed and covered as necessary to ensure their protection during storage and transit. This approach has allowed us to relocate furniture without damages. Any furniture/equipment that cannot be reused/relocated will be taken to a licensed waste transfer station where it will be processed for recycling.

We are currently carrying out our site works successfully and with mitigated/minimised NDV producing works during busy period of the day. Our team have been liaising with the occupants to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.
