Our Mission

Willow House Refurbishment

Key Features

  • We carried out refurbishment works to Willow House in Reading on behalf of the Salvation Army Housing Association
  • Ground floor toilets and wet rooms were fully refurbished to create new facilities for the residents
  • This included demolition works and then a full reconstruction including provision to allow for disabled and assisted use
  • Elsewhere we stripped out and replaced kitchens including all necessary plumbing and electrical works. It was necessary to relocate the boilers in order to create the desired layout
  • In the main reception we isolated and relocated services prior to demolition works and reconfiguration
  • We then installed fire protection and detection systems as required prior to completing decoration works to all areas

Challenges and Solutions

  • Willow House remained in full occupation throughout the works which required strict control of health and safety as well as measures to reduce noise and other forms of disruption
  • Works to the reception areas required rerouting access points in order to retain use of the building for all occupants as well as maintaining emergency evacuation routes
  • As a result of our good performance we have become an approved contractor for the Salvation Army enabling us to tender for future works
